1937

Nippon Yusoki Co., Ltd. is established in Osaka.

1939

Nichiyu Forklifts introduces Japan's first electric forklift truck, delivering two units to Nippon Steel (formerly Yahata Ironworks).

1940

Nichiyu Forklifts head office is relocated to Kyoto.

1958

Nichiyu Forklifts develops the "Platter," Japan's first electric reach forklift truck, for cargo transfer between freight car and platform.

1961

Nichiyu Forklifts is listed on the Kyoto Stock Exchange and the second sections of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchange.
The industrial winder division is established.

1965

Nichiyu Forklifts develops the "Platter," Japan's first explosion-proof forklift truck.

1970

Nichiyu Forklifts introduces the "Mujincar," Japan's first AGV. and the world's first non-contact SCR control.

1971

Nichiyu Forklifts introduces the world's first automatic guided forklift truck at the International Material Handling Exhibition.
Nichiyu Forklifts develops the world's first two-phase chopper-type brushless motor.
Nichiyu Forklifts is promoted to the first sections of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchange.

1974

Nichiyu Forklifts introduces Japan's first forklift truck with a cabin for cold storage warehouses.

1981

Nichiyu Forklifts pioneers an FMS for the processing line of its machinery factory.

1982

Nichiyu Forklifts jointly develops the rotating "Carousel Pack" with Asaka Industrial Co., Ltd.

1984

Nichiyu Forklifts concludes a technology sfer agreement with ULMA Manutencion S. Coop. of Spain for electric forklifts.

1985

Nichiyu Forklifts develops the world's first explosion-proof AGV.

1986

Nichiyu Forklifts establishes its Industrial Machinery Division.

1987

Nichiyu Forklifts introduces a wireless LAN.

1989

Nichiyu Forklifts establishes a sales tie-up with Tennant Co. of the U.S.A. for industrial floor maintenance equipment.
Nichiyu Forklifts engages in an electric forklift technology transfer with Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.

1990

Nichiyu Forklifts Australia Pty. Ltd. is established.

1991

Shiga Plant is opened.
Nichiyu Forklifts issues a convertible bond in Swiss francs.

1992

Nichiyu Forklifts Asia Pte. Ltd. and Nichiyu Forklifts Europe B.V. are established.

1993

Export logo is changed from NYK to NICHIYU.
Nichiyu Forklifts introduces the Platter Multi, the industry's first multi-directional reach truck.

1994

Nichiyu Forklifts China Co., Ltd., Nichiyu Forklifts Asia (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia, and Nichiyu Forklifts Singapore Pte. Ltd. are established.

1996

A test plant of the "Caspack" automated warehouse is completed.

1997

Nichiyu Forklifts establishes Techno Nichiyu Forklifts Co., Ltd., a developer of computer software for distribution systems.
Nichiyu Forklifts Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is established.

1998

Nichiyu Forklifts Kyoto head office acquires ISO9001 registration.
Nichiyu Forklift (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is established.

1999

Shanghai Nichiyu Forklift Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in China, a joint venture company, begins manufacturing battery forklift trucks.
Nichiyu Forklifts Machinery Co., Ltd. a production and sales company for winders is established.
The Shiga Plant acquires ISO9001 registration.

2003

Nichiyu Forklift (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. is established.
Nichiyu Forklifts Hong Kong Co., Ltd. is established.
Shanghai Nichiyu Forklift Manufacturing Co., Ltd. acquires ISO9001 registration.

2004

Nichiyu Forklift (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. is established.

2005

Nichiyu Forklifts offices in Japan acquire ISO14001 registration.

2007

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. purchases an increased third-party allocation of Nichiyu Forklifts shares. The companies agree to strengthened business ties.
The sales and service management center in Europe is relocated to France, Nichiyu Forklift Europe SA is established.

2008

A new logo design for export is introduced.
